The human/animal bond is as old as human history.   We cherish our pets for the unconditional love and acceptance they give us.   ROAR exists to strengthen that bond and rescue the pets left destitute when the bond of that trust is broken.

Miss Bella Blu and her babies!

Meet Miss Bella Blu! You might remember her as Tulip though.  Bella came to ROAR via the Ridgefield Animal Control. She was dumped on Main Street and a Good Samaritan found her and brought her to Officer Coles.  Tulip was at available at Animal Control for several weeks with no takers.  ROAR Shelter Director Allyson Dotson asked Officer Coles if ROAR could evaluate her and bring her to ROAR.  She became Tulip and we all quickly fell in love with her.

Bella is an exceptionally smart dog.  She was easy to train and loved playing in the yard with her toys.  Pitbull type dogs do not get adopted quickly here in Ridgefield so we knew we needed to get her on a routine and keep her busy and active.  She loved going for long hikes in the woods but was an excellent snuggler too.

It wasn't long before her doggie prayers were answered and she found her forever home.  Fast forward to today.  We receive updates on Bella from her family thorughout the year and they all show her loving her new life but when we received these photos today we really thought WOW! she has come a long way.  These pictures are not only wonderful because they are of our girl with kittens BUT, they help to show how gentle and loving the Pitbull type dog is.  That breed discrimination must stop!  These dogs are not the monsters the media likes to portray them to be.  They are loving and loyal companions that deserve the same rights as any other dog.

Please support ROAR and the work we do to save lives like Bella and countless other dogs and cats by making a donation today.
